Sexual Harassment of Women When Accessing Services

Sexual harassment is unwelcome sexual behavior that is offensive, humiliating or intimidating. It can be verbal, physical, written and can happen in person and online.

CivActs asked Chitungwiza residents if they had ever experienced an act violence at a borehole, 20.2 % answered in the affirmative, 79.8% indicated that they had not.

This other time l went to access water at borehole near Rufaro Road and the other guy who is one of the borehole marshalls told me to date him and l wont spend hours at the borehole. When l told my mothers sisters she told me to comply saying it wont hurt to give him what he wants as long as you manage to get water.

In Goromonzi, 7.1% of respondents surveyed reported that Authorities extorted sexual relationships from women in exchange for accessing vending spaces.
