The IMF Report on 2022 Article IV Consultation with Zimbabwe
Yesterday the International Monetary Fund [IMF] published its Executive Board’s report on its 2022 Article IV consultation with Zimbabwe. The report outlines the country’s economic and financial performance since 2019 and can be accessed on the Veritas website .
As explained in the report, under Article IV of its Articles of Agreement, the IMF holds bilateral discussions with member States, usually every year. A staff team visits the country, collects economic and financial information, and discusses with officials the country’s economic developments and policies. On return to headquarters, the staff prepares a report, which forms the basis for discussion by the Executive Board.
