MIHR Appeals to ZMC on Access to National Environmental Plan Document

MIHR has appealed to the Zimbabwe Media Commission to intervene in Accordance with Section 35 of the Freedom of Information Act after the organization has failed to access the National Environmental Plan document as per the request made to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Tourism and Hospitality Industry on 28 June 2021. Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act places a duty on holders of public information to respond to an information request within 21 days. In their respond the ZMC advised MIHR to approach the High court because “the draft regulations according to which the Commission is supposed to dispose of appeals are still with the Office of the Attorney General and are yet to be published in the Government gazette”.
