The Zimbabwe Physiotherapy Association (ZPA), the umbrella body of all Zimbabwean Physiotherapists, has learnt with utter disbelief of the disappearance and possible abduction of our colleague Dr Peter Magombeyi, Acting President of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association.
ZPA stands for proper management of the Human Resources for all healthcare workers across Zimbabwe, and believe in the dream of Universal Health Coverage for all Zimbabweans through proper management of all health workers.
ZPA therefore stands with Dr Peter Magombeyi and the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association as they agitate for better terms and conditions of service for Doctors and other Healthcare workers in Zimbabwe and we therefore condemn in the strongest possible terms the abduction of Dr Peter Magombeyi.
We urge our government to do everything possible in its power to ensure the safe return of Dr Magombeyi to his family, and to ensure that the Human Resources for Healthcare workers in Zimbabwe are protected and treated with the dignity they deserve.
