VISET Urges Harare Provincial Development Coordinator to take a Chill Pill

Vendors Initiative for Social and Economic Transformation (VISET) is alarmed by reckless comments attributed to the Provincial Development Coordinator for Harare Metropolitan Province Mr. Tafadzwa Muguti in a Star FM Radio show on Monday.

It has been reported that the PDC vowed to continue the ill-advised, inhuman and brutal demolition exercise in 30 days, notwithstanding the High Court order obtained by CHITREST ordering a halt to the demolitions. We find such utterances to be completely irresponsible for a man holding a national office that must be guided by the Constitution, which recognizes the separation of powers and respects court judgements.

VISET urges the PDC to allow due process to take place as well as to abide by court directives as we are in a constitutional democracy and not under martial law.

We also appeal for a stop to victimisation of Ms Alice Kuvheya the Executive Director of CHITREST, as we can only view her arrest and detention as intimidatory tactics for representing her sector.
