VISET Salutes Oxfam Zimbabwe and UNDP Zimbabwe

The Vendors Initiative for Social and Economic Transformation (VISET) heartily welcomes the completion of Mbare Farmers Market rehabilitation and renovation by Oxfam Zimbabwe with support from UNDP Zimbabwe under the Covid-19 Food Supply Chain Management in Harare project.

In the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, this is a welcome and longed-for development that will go a long way in curbing the spread of the disease in traders markets.

Development partners have been consistent in their support to the people of Zimbabwe as evidenced by the statement by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube where he acknowledged that as at 28 January 2021, partners disbursements stood at US$119 million, with further projected disbursements of a further US$134 million during the course of the year.

It is our hope and prayer that our government through its various arms can be able to meet development partners halfway particularly in the development and renovation of Informal Trader Markets as well as provision of water and sanitation in furtherance of the fight against Covid-19.
