VISET Set To Meet With the Parliament of Zimbabwe’s Thematic Committee On Gender and Development

Vendors Initiative for Social and Economic Transformation (VISET) has been invited to make a presentation to the Thematic Committee on Gender and Development with regards to the effects of COVID-19 to women and youth in the small to medium enterprises, on Monday 7 December 2020.

The presentation will seek to bring attention to the following issues;
a) The impact of COVID-19 to women and youth in the small and medium sector.
b) How the government can assist in empowering the people in this sector to alleviate their plight.
c) The viability of the programmes and or projects that are being done by the government in addressing the challenges of OVID-19 to the sector.

The VISET team will also share with the Committee some of the policies and laws that govern the Small and Medium enterprises, as well as pointing out where gaps exist. VISET welcomes this opportunity to engage with all relevant arms of the state to assist in bringing to the fore the plight of vendors and how they can contribute meaningfully to national development.
