CHRA Steps Up Efforts in the Fight Against Covid-19

In pursuant of fighting the notorious COVID 19 pandemic, the Combined Harare Residents Association has donated liquid soap, hand sanitizers and masks to the Harare City Council today at Townhouse.

The donation was received by the City of Harare Town Clerk Engineer Hosiah Chisango, Deputy Mayor of Harare Enock Mupamawonde, Chairperson of the Human Resource Committee, and Councilor Jacob Mafume among others.

Speaking of the intervention the Director of CHRA Ms Loreen Mupasiri said “CHRA is concerned with congestion at water points in the City especially community boreholes so we decided to donate liquid soap and sanitizers so that residents at community boreholes will also use them in order to reduce chances of spreading and contracting COVID 19 in high density areas.”

During the handover Councilor Jacob Mafume said, “We thank the Combined Harare Residents Association for having donated these things as they will go a long way to assist the city in response to this international crisis.”

Councilor Mafume lamented that, the total beds which the city have are not exceeding 300 which are not sufficient to deal with the worst of COVID 19 disease and called for more interventions from development agencies.

The donation is part of the CHRA intervention to curb the spread of the COVID 19. CHRA call on residents of Harare to wash hands with soap under running water regularly and maintain social distancing.
