ICODZIM Petition the Parliament of Zimbabwe to Domesticate the UNCRPD

Institute for Community Development in Zimbabwe TRUST (ICODZIM) a women lead organization for women and persons with disabilities, and eight other organizations including Masvingo Wheelchair Tennis and Tasvika Housing Cooperation petitioned the Parliament of Zimbabwe to exercise its constitutional role and call on government to:

1. Update the country’s disability policies and align them with and domesticate the United Nation Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability which it ratified on the 23rd of September 2013; and
2. Finalize pending policies and programs including the national disability policy

The petition has since been referred to the Thematic Committee on Human Rights
