Community Water Alliance in partnership with Combined Harare Residents Association will on 21 March 2019 host five Parliamentary Portfolio Committees to discuss review of water laws in line with Section 77 (a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.
The five Parliamentary Portfolio Committees that will grace the dialogue meeting are as follows: Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement; Local Government; Budget, Finance and Economic Development; Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry as well as Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.
The Dialogue Meeting will be held a day before the 22 March World Water Day. The theme for the meeting is Human Right to Water: Leaving No One Behind. The theme recognizes both the Zimbabwean Constitutional provision guaranteeing EVERYONE the right to safe and clean water as well as the 2019 World Water Day theme LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND.
Community Water Alliance will table its legal, policy and regulations analysis paper on water laws for discussion and interrogation.
After the dialogue meeting Community Water Alliance and Combined Harare Residents Association will jointly host a press conference to share both the content of legal analysis paper and some takeaways from the dialogue meeting.
