The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) a coalition of 36 non-governmental organisations working on the promotion of democratic elections in Zimbabwe will be observing the Mutoko North National Assembly and Chegutu East Local Authority by election set for 24 November 2018.
The Mutoko North Constituency seat fell vacant following the elevation of Mabel Chinomona to the position of President of the Senate. The Chegutu East Local Assembly seat fell vacant following the death of Councillor Silas Chikati on 10 September 2018.
ZESN has trained and will deploy 76 election observers to cover all polling stations in the eleven wards in Mutoko North comprising static observers based at polling stations, ward and constituency collation centres and mobile observers. In addition, Chegutu East the Network is deploying 8 also comprising static and mobile observers. ZESN urges citizens in Mutoko North and Chegutu East to go out and exercise their right and vote in peace.
As part of its obligation to gather and disseminate credible electoral information, ZESN will be releasing regular alerts, statements and information updates throughout the entire polling process.
