Expanding access to, and knowledge of, Mukuvisi Woodlands in Harare

The Kubatana Team loves to visit the Mukuvisi Woodlands to grab a bit of nature in the middle of H-town. It’s a place to calm down, de-stress and get in touch with some inspiration. So when their May School Holiday Bush Camp came around, we thought why not sponsor a child so that they could get some fun and increase their knowledge of the bush, animals and nature in general. We only had funds for one child’s participation. We asked the Kubatana membership to get their children to draw a picture of their take on the bush, and then send us a snap and we’d select a winner.

Christy Nziradzepatsva won and we heard that she truly enjoyed her time at Mukuvisi . . .

“Daddy handisati ndambonakidzwa zvakadaro!!!”were her first words when we collected her yesterday. We had never seen such happiness in her eyes! It was quite a lifetime experience, thanks to your team!

When we published the fact in one of our newsletters that we could only sponsor one child, a Kubatana member in Canada said that she and her friend would cover the cost of the participation of the 13 other children who submitted pictures, so that they could attend the next Bush Camp in August.

Thank you to Jean and Barbara! Kindness makes the world go round.
