On Thursday the 19th of April 2018, Vendors Initiative for Social and Economic Transformation (VISET) conducted two Street by Street Road Shows in Warren Park and Dzivarasekwa High Density suburb. The street by street initiative saw VISET teams, led by the Socio-Economic Champions (SOCHAMPS), moving around the major streets and shopping centers of the two locations distributing different IEC materials on the Biometric Voter Registration process. After moving around the streets, the teams eventually gathered at “Mereki” Shopping Center in Warren Park and “DZ 2” Shopping Center in Dzivarasekwa.
The objective of the road shows was to enhance vendors knowledge and understanding (especially youths and people living with disabilities) of the 2018 electoral processes, particularly voter registration, electoral roll inspection and voting.
On the 20th of April 2018, Vendors Initiative for Social and Economic Transformation (VISET) conducted a roadshow in Epworth. The roadshow was conducted in partnership with Epworth Residents Development Association (ERDA). The roadshow was a platform used to encourage vendors and residents to register to vote. Interesting discussions centered on how one can change their polling station since vendors are highly mobile populations. The platform was also used to educate and inform vendors on other electoral processes. The roadshow attracted a lot of youths through music and dance and this helped to disseminate information to a lot of project beneficiaries.
Today, the organisation is holding the last of its 12 road shows in Mbare.
