The Chitungwiza and Manyame Rural Residents Association (CAMERA) in collaboration with the Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA) today hosted a biometric voter registration (BVR) roadshow at Unit O shopping centre (paTaita) in Chitungwiza from 9am to 3pm. The show dubbed “#HarareHaveYourSay” campaign was held under the banner of the Harare Metropolitan Residents Forum (HamRef).
Simbarashe Moyo, the HamRef co-chairperson who doubles as CHRA chairperson highlighted that the purpose of this roadshow was to provide Chitungwiza residents with an opportunity, especially for those who have neither received information on BVR nor registered to vote to be reached so that they register to vote and have their say on the way the country is governed.
HamRef spokesperson and CAMERA director Marvellous Kumalo thanked the hundreds of residents and other stakeholders who attended the roadshow and said apart from the edutainment which was provided through dance hall music, potential voter registrants were assisted to register to vote. The crowd which more than a thousand was entertained by Dadza D, Empress CC, Boom Beto and Platinum Prince.
