Action Institute for Environment, Health and Development Communication (IEHDC), is a local non-governmental organization (NGO) specializing in the production of multimedia products in the areas of environment, health and social development.

Action IEHDC was established as a project in 1987 as a result of the apparent need for information materials for children in the areas of environment, health and development.
The organisation has since broadened to produce multimedia materials targeting both children and adults. Action IEHDC has since been registered as a Trust in July 2009.

Over the years, Action IEHDC has developed educational materials in the form of magazines, booklets and posters which have been distributed to all schools, clinics and hospitals countrywide.

In view of the growing complexity of the HIV and AIDS pandemic, Action IEHDC through its partnership with Soul City: Institute of Health and Development Communication, a South African based NGO, is working on a multi-media campaign, which includes social mobilization and advocacy to promote positive behaviour change in matters to do with health and social development.

As part of this partnership with Soul City, Action IEHDC has successfully developed and grown two multi-media brands: Action Pals and Action for Life which target children between the ages of 10 and 16 and adults respectively. To date, Action IEHDC has produced six million copies of magazines in English, Shona and Ndebele and distributed them to over 6500 schools and more than 2000 hospitals, clinics and health centres in Zimbabwe. It has also produced radio and television drama series that continue to be broadcast country wide as part of the Soul City regional campaigns on health and social development. The Soul City regional programme is running across 10 countries in Southern Africa including Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
