ZCA Chirumhanzi hub donates to Binga flood victims

The Binga District Development Coordinator (DDC) has distributed clothes that were donated by the Zimbabwe Christian Alliance (ZCA) Chirumnhanzi hub to the flood victims.

In response to the floods that hit Binga, the Chirumnhanzi hub organized and collected clothes from congregants to help families that were affected by the floods.

The clothes were handed over to the DDC’s office on behalf of the hub for procedural checks before being distributed to the affected families. He said it was the duty of the church to step in and help during situations like these in the country.

“It is our duty and responsibility to help our brothers and sisters who have been affected by the floods. We know that what we have donated today will not cover everyone but we will continue sourcing for more things that will help this community,” he said.

At least 37 homes were completely destroyed leaving hundreds of people homeless. According to local media reports hundreds of villagers perched in trees for safety for 24 hours and the floods damaged bridges, roads and over 180 homes.
